Do you have a puppy? You're invited!
Socialization is one of the most important things we emphasize when we are talking to new puppy parents. Socialization for dogs is more than just interacting with other dogs, although that’s a very big part of it. Socialization really means introducing your puppy in a safe and positive way to all of the possible sights and sounds that will be part of their world. Between 3-16 weeks of age, puppies go through a “critical socialization period”.
We know how difficult it is right now to properly and safely socialize puppies and because of that, we’re introducing our weekly PUPPY SOCIAL HOUR, on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30pm.
Puppy owners can sign up on a weekly basis to bring their puppies to play with other dogs their age as well as be introduced to new experiences and people. Our puppy experts can also discuss and answer basic puppy questions like potty and crate training. Puppy Social Hour is a great precursor or supplement to taking our puppy etiquette class.
Puppy Social Hour is $20 per 1 hour session and will be lead by Jill Swain. Jill has been our puppy foster coordinator for 10 years and manages the UMDR puppy nursery. She has over 15 years of experience working with dogs in Veterinary and professional settings.
*Puppy Social Hour is designed for puppies 10 weeks to 6 months old who have had a minimum of 2 Distemper/ Parvo vaccines and are current on other age appropriate vaccinations. Proof of vaccination will be required.
