Canine Good Citizen

For Dogs of All Ages

Good Citizen Prep Course

Our flexible class registration will help you meet your personal training goals!

This class is designed as a build-your-own training program, allowing your dog to focus on the skills you want them to learn. Tailored to fit your goals, this format gives your dog extra practice where they need it most!

Step One - Prerequisite

Introductory Workshop

$100.00 | Two (2) Week Session

Week 1

Humans Only

The first week of our Introductory Workshop is for HUMANS ONLY. This is an interactive experience that helps you better understand how your dog thinks, reacts, and learns. We will go over all the skills you need to get started with positive reinforcement training techniques. Specifically, setting up a successful training environment, choosing the right equipment (leash, collar, harness, etc.), identifying your dog's motivators, and how to use a clicker.

Week 2

Dog Evaluation

The second week is an evaluation of your dog. By assessing basic skills, we'll get an understanding of what they already know and how to meet their needs in a classroom environment. This will include a video that you can then reference at the end of class for a "Before and After" and a form to track your training goals and progress. This is a professional behavioral evaluation, ($90 value)!

Location:
UMDR Training Center

Step Two - After Workshop Completion

Additional Skills Classes

$50.00 per class | Multiple Class Discounts

Saturdays 4:00pm and 5:30pm

Not only will these courses prepare you for CGC Certification, they will help you learn how to teach your dog basic cues (sit, down, leave it, stay, and come), set the foundations for teaching complex behaviors (target training and cue "proofing"), and help you improve your dog's ability to greet others calmly and walk well on a leash.

Kai was a great trainer. Patient with the owners and dogs. Able to give alternatives when the method discussed didn’t work. Highly recommend.
