Around this time every year, Unchained Melodies Dog Rescue receives an overwhelming number of calls about dogs left outside in the cold.

Executive Director Melody Whitworth said they receive calls daily, but they don't have the space to keep them.

"Foster homes help keep the process rolling... one goes out, one comes in, two go out, two come in,” she said.
